Reading time ~1 minute

One hell of a good week for music after the bank holiday. I was introduced to “tUnE-yArDs”, a musical project by Merrill Garbus from New England, hosting some outstanding electronica, folk and afrobeat in an experimental melting pot. Check out the tune Water Fountain for a decent introduction.

Crystal Castles have released their third album which carries on their strange synthetic beats with the band still on form.

Also listening to “All Hail Bright Futures” by “And So I Watch You From Afar”; one the finest instrumental rock albums with a happy summer vibe that just keeps going. Despite listening to it for weeks Royal Republic’s “Weekend Man” album is still going round my playlist, mainly because it’s just bad-ass punk with a slight rockabilly style.

Finally rediscovering “Kill It Kid”, a Bath based punk blues group with a heavy raw style that reminds me of a more refined “Deap Vally”.
